As someone who recently read the book and now considers "Shopaholic" Becky Bloomwood my new best friend, I found the film version HORRIBLE! The movie skips around BIG TIME and Becky has been reduced to a complete moron. The pace of the film went way too fast for me, and it would have been really hard to understand what was going on, had I not read the book. Alicia Silverstone's Claire (from "Clueless") had more sense than the film version of Becky. I watched about twenty minutes and after seeing how horribly the book was trashed here, I turned it off. PLEASE... if you have any interest in this story whatsoever, PLEASE read the book. It's much more entertaining.
I will just do it and call this a Chic Flick. I am not one to throw around this term as my husband typically can enjoy most films characterized as such, but not this one! It was sweet, cute pretty and a typical light romance movie. I liked it, he did not.
I love Isla Fisher, and this movie was very cute, wish it had followed the book more closely.
This movie is literally the funniest movie ever!!!! Probably my top favorite movie. I love it so much!!!!
It is good that I did not read the book this film was adapted from because I'm certain that I would not have enjoyed it as well as I did. It was entertaining enough and well acted by the female lead. Also, I will never tire of looking at Hugh Dancy.
A truly riveting story of a girl trying to avoid her problem until she realizes that doing this won't get her anywhere. This book draws you in and holds you there.
I love this movie! I have watched it multiple times and will watch it again. I read the book after seeing the movie and found myself frustrated and bored. The movie line "I shop because..." is key to the lives of many women. This actress was a joy to enjoy as she played this character.
Great movie! Fun and flirty. Great for a Girl's Night Out! I enjoyed it very much.
Love the book series and the humour of the author, Sophie Kinsella. Thought the movie would be a nice entertainment, but it turned out to be super hilarious and warm. The movie does not have everything from the book, but I think the producer has chosen the best parts and put it into the movie, which is necessary when a book (comparatively longer - than the movie) is made into a movie.
I was actually surprised at how well written this book was, considering the subject matter. Give it a go.
nice really nice but really short of the scenes in the book should remake movie and add sequels
Life is too short. A cheesy movie based on deception. Lots of deception. I couldn't watch it through it was so bad.
