Opinion

From Library Staff

With Arnold leading the way, this movie was groundbreaking on many levels. And with a Terminator movie coming out just this past year, Schwarzenegger wasn't lying when he said those famous words, "I'll be back"

Terrific and intense action, with the slower parts allowing for backstory explanations and relationship development. The talk of the future and the sounds a lot like what sceptics say about AI.

A bit outdated and low budget. Still an enjoyable action flick.

This film, although dated, is still fantastic. The plot is unique and gripping. Sarah Conner a young server just going about her life, is thrust into a truly unbelievable situation; her portrayal, by Linda Hamilton, is realistic and raw. The special effects was state f the art at the time, but I’d love to see this get a digital update. I will pretty much watch this whenever it’s on.

Two naked guys show up in 1984 Las Angles and aspire to locate a certain woman. Once they do it is an all-out chase to get her/protect her. GREAT!

Classic 1980s low-budget, big-concept science-fiction action yarn. Great stuff. Sure, some of the effects look like effects but this film is what got the ball rolling for taking effects to the next level when T2 came out. Some of the acting is hammy but whatever, it was low budget. The one thing that does age it badly is the soundtrack. Aside from the Terminator's signature theme, most of the music is horrible, just horrible electronic crap.

Now I see what all the hype is about. I had to watch this one before I go see the new one and this movie is just as good as everyone said.

The Terminator: [while wearing sunglasses] I'm a friend of Sarah Connor. I was told she was here. Could I see her please?

Desk Sergeant: No, you can't see her she's making a statement.

The Terminator: Where is she?

Desk Sergeant: [uses his pencil to point to the bench] Look, it may take a while. Want to wait? There's a bench over there.

[points to bench]

The Terminator: [looks around, examining the structural integrity of the room, then looks back at him] I'll be back!
