Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson. Do I really need to elaborate? This is another feel-good film for adults, one that you just cannot help but enjoy. The chemistry between Hoffman and Thompson is so real I wanted them to walk off into the sunset together.

I would have never thought to pair Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson together but they pull it off. It was good to see how each of these characters evolved especialy Dustin. Made me think of Kramer versus Kramer.
Would recommend this.

A bit mawkish, sentimental heartstring twanger carefully designed to appeal to the lost and lonely and make them thing there's hope out there somewhere

This lovely, tender light romantic dramedy visibly struggles between more conventional contrivances of plot and the type of lackadaisical intimacy touted by the 'Before' films. It's at it's best putting Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman at the forefront, responding to situations and allowing their lived-in, subtle acting do the heavy lifting. Simple moments like Hoffman riding in a taxi after being told he will not be giving his daughter away at her wedding or the look on Thompson's face during a blind date in which she is ignored are spellbinding. Together they make an endearing odd couple. Had the film simply trusting it's stars to carry it and not thrown in suspicious mothers, ridiculous coworkers, and "let's try on outfits with peppy music" montages it could very well have been great. Right now it's simply charming in spite of all that.

I enjoyed Emma Thompson's performance, as always, but lost interest in this one and couldn't finish it.

Good movie, nice to be able to catch something I missed in 2009. Nice twist and turns, enjoyed it very much. Hoffman and Thompson make a good miss-matched pair. Check it out.

A delightful romantic comedy -- especially for viewers of a certain age. Joel Hopkins wrote the screenplay as a vehicle for Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson. What a brilliant idea!

Okay, so it's not Casablanca. But the charisma and screen chemistry make this movie work.

Just boring really... even great actors cannot save the lack of story.

An unconventional love story that happens for the main characters in mid-life.
Each having their own preconceived notions, while trying to "step out of the box" on finding love.
Two complete strangers decide to take a chance by changing the way they react to each other even though they are complete strangers.
Finally a movie about the 40+ crowd, for the 40+ crowd who are still looking for love.
A must see.
