His life story is detailed from the end of World War I in 1918 and into the 21st century, when he discovered a love that lasted beyond time.

Directed by David Fincher in 2008 loosely based on the 1922 short story of the same name by F. Scott Fitzgerald, this fantasy-romance delves into a strange story of a man who ages in reverse.
Superb makeups and excellent visual effects create a magical fantasy you could hardly believe.
You will wonder how the director shows the protagonist age in reverse while you make sense of the philosophical conundrums and emotional paradoxes of its protagonist’s condition in a spirit that owes more to Fitzgerald's weird narrative.
Amazing and amusing!

Very strange but haunting story. Beautifully filmed, two magnetic actors Pitt and Blanchett, and almost flawless special effects make this film easy to enjoy although accepting the premise of a man aging backwards is the key to liking this film.

I'm impressed that they were able to take a pretty short work of fiction and turn it into an eternally long movie, the movie itself is okay.

A baby born an old man ages younger throughout  his life, following the lifelong romance he has with Daisy, Benjamin was raised in a nursing home for the elderly when his father left him there, abandoning him after seeing his son. The film revolves around Benjamin and his life, when he receives work in a tug boat, going to war meeting his father, and the death of the woman who raised him. This was a wonderful movie, there were some funny moments but overall I would classify this as a drama, the audience really gets to see the unusual struggles he faces.

A sincere, though misguided attempt to give new meaning to the old saying, "Youth is wasted on the young". Through a series of deathbed flashbacks it tells the story of Benjamin, who was born with the body of an old man but the mind of an infant. As he grew older mentally, his body grew younger which led to a few romantic complications as there was only one brief span of time in which mind/body were in synch with one another. A very interesting premise which this overly long and lightweight drama fails to explore adequately. Fincher concentrates on the trimmings of the story.....lots of pastel sunrises, "homespun" wisdom, and Brad Pitt's pecs but fails to deliver any real substance, instead distracting the audience with superfluous asides involving blind clockmakers ('cause you never know what's coming for you); dubious hummingbirds (their wings trace the symbol for "eternity" don't you know); and a protracted sequence showing the power of coincidence which reminded me of the opening scenes of "Magnolia"..... (gee, if only her friend had bought a better pair of shoelaces Daisy would still be dancing.....) This is the type of cloying Hollywood crowd pleaser which lulls you into believing you are watching something profoundly moving, but as the houselights come up you realize you've simply been sold a bottle of cinematic snake oil.

Somewhat entertaining, but extremely hokey.

I thought the movie was depressing and wouldn't recommend it.There's enough grief in this world to sit through a movie where parents discard a child because he looks strange, then he lives with others that are old like him. He receives acceptance from a black woman, marries, has relations with a woman being a child, then a brat and a baby. Crazy!!!!

In this movie Benjamin Button is born with a rare disease of being born old and growing young.
Interesting concept as Ben lives his life, basically, backwards.
Good performances by all.
