One of the best books I ever read. Upon completing it, I immediately read it again. I will probably buy it for myself and for several friends and for a local library that doesn't have a copy. If you like books about animals, if you like animals, if you like tenderness and kindness, read this book. If you want to know more about how dogs are being trained to work with humans on many levels, read this book. If your brain and heart like being challenged at the same time, read this book.

"After an extremely harrowing search-and-rescue that involved dogs that had been tortured, author Susannah Charleson developed a stress-related disorder. She later noticed that her own dog helped pull her out of episodes of anxiety, and she became interested in psychiatric service dogs. The Possibility Dogs relates her discoveries about the work of dogs trained to help people with psychological disorders and explains how she learned to identify suitable dogs and train them herself. Her memoir also provides moving accounts of particular dogs and their successes in helping humans with especially challenging problems." August 2013 Biography and Memoir newsletter

A well-written book by someone who has experience with dogs and their training, assistance dogs, and dog rescue work.
