A human story of jealousy, blackmail, self-made men, frustrated ambitions and secrecy that takes place in Melbourne, Australia in the 19th century and involves an investigation into a homicide where the deceased was discovered on the inside of a hansom cab. The influential and secretive Frettlby family is at the center of the mystery, and the name of the killer himself is not as much significance in the story, as is the role of the Frettlby family and their secret.

Considering it is free from KCLS, this story is entertaining for those who enjoy 19th century mysteries.

O.K. Australian period drama production with simple mystery, but interesting characters. Not exactly "Sherlock", but entertaining. Coolest addition though may be "Hansom cabs", late 1800s carriages in Australia at that time.

Easy entertainment. Good acting, beautiful costuming and scenery; haunting music. Worth watching.

Quaint, which makes sense since the movie is adapted from a novel written long ago. You will figure it out in the first 20 minutes. The acting reminded me of amateur theatre.
