An exceptional book that follows Navy Basic Under Water Demolition/SEAL Training Class 228 through the 3 phases of the course. The book describes in detail the hardships that must be endured to complete this entry level SEAL Training. In a few passages, he names Markus Luttrell as a candidate. Luttrell is most famous as the “Lone Survivor” of a failed operation against the Taliban. What I found most valuable in this book were the following concepts that can be applied to daily life. (even if not a SEAL)
1. You must work together to win.
2. It is always better to win than to lose.
3. Strive to be the best at what you do.
4. Do more than your part.
5. Never give up.
The suffering of the people in the book and their resolve were for me an inspiration to work harder and direct more focus at what I do.
