Born (1881) in Ashfield, Massachusetts - (actor/director) Cecil (B. for Blount) DeMille is well-known by film-history buffs for his direction (during Hollywood's heyday) of many extravagant, big-budget "Sin & Spectacle" epics and for his lavish historical pageants.

Between 1914-1958 - DeMille directed a total of 70 feature films. And though he was nominated several times for an Academy Award as "Best Director", surprisingly enough, he had never won one.

Impressively compiled by DeMille's grand-daughter, Cecilia DeMille Presley - This hefty-sized volume tells the whole story (through text & stills) about the very busy career of Cecile B.

*Note* - In 1959 - Cecil B. DeMille (78 at the time) died of heart failure.
