The main character, McKenna is a strong minded girl. While she is only 17, she sets off hiking the Appalachian Trail all alone; that is until she meets Sam. This book sparked a desire in myself that I could concur anything. It was the perfect mix of adventure and romance. A great read that I had a hard time setting down.

McKenna is a strong girl, devoted to her goals, but also willing to open her heart to a first love. Along the Appalachian Trail she learns as much about herself as she does about hiking and surviving in the wilderness. When she ventures off the trail, against her better judgement, there are serious consequences which is always an important lesson to learn. I found the ending to be emotional, hopeful and courageous.
