I adored this audiobook - enough to stay up until four a.m finishing it, on the same day I checked it out. It's engaging, emotional, and accurately portrays all the awkwardness and heartbreak of life as a closeted LGBT teen. The romance between Blue and Simon had me giddy for hours after I finished this book, and I loved the not-quite-mystery of figuring out who Blue was. The performer did a wonderful job portraying the personalities of each character, specifically the narrator, Simon. If you're looking for an uplifting slice of life story with queer representation and insight into the lives of teens, this book is for you.

Becky Albertalli's books "Leah On the Off Beat" and "The Upside of Unrequited" follow the characters in this story as well.

On my list because theladyragnell on tumblr put it on her top ten list and said "an engaging voice and I just really liked it overall)"

This book is sooooooo cute! I recommend the audiobook especially, as Michael Crouch does a perfect job at portraying how sarcastic, adorable, and hopelessly clueless Simon is. If you're looking for a book to cheer you up, this is you best bet. (Also available on Hoopla.)

I LOVED this book. It made me laugh and almost cry a few times and I'm typically not a very emotional reader. I listened to the audio version and I found that the narrator really captured the voice of Simon and I think that really enhanced my enjoyment of the book. This book was my first foray into "coming out" stories and I think it was a great place to start. The main character was very likeable and although he made some silly mistakes you could tell that he learned from them and built character.

It all starts with a secret crush that you HAVE to know more about (Who is Blue?!?), but evolves effortlessly into a charmingly humorous exploration of identity and social issues that are relevant to many of us. The voice actor captures this story's rare combination of inspiring and entertaining perfectly. Great pick for book clubs, as Simon still has me questioning why our culture expects certain people to come out, but not others.

I enjoyed trying to figure out who Blue is. The characters in the story are well developed. I loved Simons family.
