America, Kriss, Celeste, and Elise are the only girls left in the competition, and things are getting intense. The Selection is an event where girls are randomly chosen to participate, and the prize is the crown, the kingdom, and Maxon’s heart. All of them want it, but only one can have it. America is pressured, she knows she is on a thin line, but her intuition gets the best of her. Speaking up for what she believes in, the crowd starts to love her more and more as the king’s temper continues to rise. Meanwhile, a rebellion is happening, making them all in danger. Attacks are getting more vicious and more lives are being taken. But America is ready to fight. I loved the ending to Maxon and America’s complicated love story. All the past books have been amazing and The One tied up all the loose knots into one beautiful bow. America is a strong female character whom I think would inspire many teenage girls to be themselves no matter who’s against them. A really fabulous ending and I can’t wait to read more of Kiera Cass’ books. Rating: 4.5/5

This book was not my favourite, I liked how America stood by her beliefs and values, but it drove me nuts how she flip-flopped all over the place with her feelings. Especially since it was very obvious how she felt, a lot of her indecision didn't have much justification. Throughout the series, I never felt like the rebels were truly threats, they never seemed very dangerous. Things changed towards the last half of The One, which I appreciated. I don't know how I feel about the ending. Things wrap up a little too nicely, and I feel like there were some things that needed to be properly sorted out between our characters. More of the flip-flopping feelings, where the past just seems to have been unrealistically forgotten. The first and second book were well done, the third to be honest was a little boring. As the teen drama of the Selection process continues, the Northern Rebels make diplomatic overtures to Maxon and America, whom they believe to be sympathetic to their cause. Our heroine is going to learn a lot about her country, her father, Maxon, and even Celeste and Aspen. The opulent life at the palace is revealed as the façade it is. Before the Selection ends, there will be great change. And with all major social change comes bloodshed. 3/5 stars

The One is the final book based on the Selection in which Maxon and America are participants. The readers seem to think there is only one solution to this book and that is to have the two together; but there is backstory playing alongside this and the rebellion is brimming to the top. America is realizing the truth about her family, her father and her life altogether and also understanding her true feelings in terms of the Selection in which she is a player of an emotional game. There is still doubt when it comes to Aspen and the life she had behind her, and when she comes to realize that Aspen still cares so much about her safety and life, she doesn’t know what path to pursue. Become a rebel and fight against the levels that the King has labeled her family with, or become the Queen of Ilea and live her life as another one of the royals. Will she ever be able to change the wheel of life that is forever turning? Will she be the winner of this Selection? Will she ever be able to let go of Aspen? Find out all this and more in this thrilling third book. Rating 5/5 (My favourite cover in all three of these books!)
