A collection of poetry and art. What makes this arrangement so beautiful is the vulnerability of Kaur and her themes of inspiration, experience, and loss.
The whole book itself is very short indeed. I would recommend reading small sections over an extended period of time; perhaps a dozen pages per day.

The e.e. cummings format has been done to death. Repeatedly ending sentence after sentence with a preposition, begs grammar corrections. Any good book editor would have caught that. Maybe the rush to get this atrocity printed and put on shelves trumped a few basic grammatical rules. Unfortunate.

What a beautiful book, if your still waiting on the very long holds list I recommend downloading the Hoopla App and borrowing this book. Such a wonderful refreshing read. ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

I do not know much about poetry, but this collection had some very beautiful lines in it. I'll share the ones that stuck out to me:

i do not want to have you
to fill the empty parts of me
i want to be full on my own
i want to be so complete
i could could light a whole city
and then
i want to have you
cause the two of us combined could set it on fire

fall
in love
with your solitude
if you are not enough
for yourself
you will never be enough
for someone else

Overall, there's not much to say about this book. It was alright and gave me inspiration, but honestly, it's more like a collection of pages to take pictures of and post on Tumblr. Also, it wastes a load of paper (can't some of them be a little longer?), and I don't get the structure. Do random spaces make poetry? It actually made the poems harder to comprehend for me, and I wasn't a big fan of it. I did like the ideas and drawings though in general.

A poetry collection examining hurt, love, heartbreak, and the healing that comes in the end. Gorgeously done with illustrations throughout. Caution Warnings: Abuse, Sexual Assault, Rape

A heartbreaking testimony of abuse, love and survival. I wish I could give this book more than five stars.
