Beyond the Shadows is the final instalment in the Night Angel trilogy. The protagonist, Kylar, tries to leave behind his former life of wetboy, an assassin that possesses magical powers. However, his kingdom is at war and in order to have a chance at ever living a normal life Kylar must take up one final job- assassinating a goddess. This book did a great job wrapping up the story arches for each of the characters of the novel and left practically no loose ends. I found the ending satisfying and fitting, although some people will disagree with me. I will admit towards the end that some parts leading up to the end of the story feel shoehorned into the book and it almost seemed out of place in this series, but other than that I really enjoyed Beyond the Shadows. With plenty of action, drama and unexpected twists, this is a fitting end for one of my favourite book series. 4/5 Stars - @Fulton of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

Great series. Each book builds on the next and reaches a great climax.

The author is wring more books that take place 17 years after the events of this book! I can't wait! The ending of this book was just a bit unsatisfying for me.

First of all, before I go into more detail, the book, and subsequently the trilogy, has a satisfying ending. Anyways, it mostly follows Kylar and Dorian. From what I can recall, this book has the most politics out of the three books, so if political intrigue is interesting, then hooray! There's less action this time around, but I feel like it's more quality action. In either case, if you've read the first two, finish this one and it will give you a smile on your face.

See my comment entered for the first book in this series, "The Way of Shadows". It applies to all three books. I'm adding this comment here just to say that I was sad when I finished this book. Only because there was no more of it to read, I enjoyed it so much! Highly recommend the series!
