In this gorgeous companion to the acclaimed Over and Under the Snow and Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt, Kate Messner and Christopher Silas Neal bring to life a secret underwater world. In this book, readers will discover the plants and animals that make up the rich, interconnected ecosystem of a mountain pond. Over the pond, the water is a mirror, reflecting the sky. But under the pond is a hidden world of minnows darting, beavers diving, tadpoles growing. These and many other secrets are waiting to be discovered...over and under the pond.

Beautiful illustrations are the highlight of this gentle story about a boy and his mother exploring the wildlife in a pond.

This is a beautiful picture book that exposes readers to lots of different freshwater wildlife. I like that the book can clearly transition between age groups, a picture book with more detail for older children in the back and suggested future readings. Take a peek and then go out for a canoe ride on Powderhorn Lake or Lake of the Isles to bring the book to life.

This is a beautiful picture book showcasing the hidden world under the surface of a pond.

This book is beautiful and the narrative has a "circle of life" feel that will be entertaining and very informative for a young reader. The length of the book is also important to the visuals to get a sense of equity when viewing over the pond and under the pond.

Enjoy!
