A good book for young teens. I did not personally enjoy most of the style, but the plot twist was interesting. It's lacking world building, and science to make this immersive.

I listened to the audio book and Rosario Dawson really brought the characters to life. There were some great nerd references! While there was quite a bit of science I didn't understand I did not feel that I missed out on how it worked overall. I found this book to be fast paced with some great twists, while I was not completely happy with how it ended it was still an amazing book and I will be adding it to my collection for rereading/re-listening often. If you struggled with diving in to the paperback give the audio book a try!

I have seen some comments about the sexual humor is the story and it was really not that bad, a normal dose for an adult book. I would be more concerned if this was featured as a YA book but it is not....it is in the adult section.

Review excerpt: "I gobbled up 'Artemis', the new book by the author of 'The Martian', like a bag of chips. And like a bag of chips, it had many delights, but it was also problematic in many ways and altogether not very good for me. Like 'The Martian', Artemis is full of smart people, and I sure do love smart people. It’s also full of slut-shaming and bizarre comments about the main character’s body."

Should have been a YA book.
Lower the ages of the main characters and you have a good YA novel.

Fun adventure, interesting characters, and just the right amount of scientific detail. Unlike other commenters, I found the sexual content very mild.

3 starts out of 5. Story is middle of the road. Main character is a little too perfect. Above all, there's too much scientific details and too much pages explaining everything. It bogs the narration and the story.

Plot. A strong follow-up to The Martian filled with unexpected plot twists and engaging characters.

Plot. A heist on the moon, and a smuggler with morals at the heart of it.

OK, not everyone's cup of tea. But if there's somewhere else one can find decompression humor, I'd like to know where!

I read it when it first came out, then I a year later, I got it as a gift, and read it again. I enjoyed it just as much, if not more. I find the protagonist irresistible.

Plus, there's welding!

Extremely disappointed in that book. 90% of the jokes are of sexual nature and not even good (mostly "haha, I have sex" kind). The female protagonist speaks and behaves like 15 year old boy. Characters were supposed to be diverse but there is hardly difference between them all. When you think too long about the plot it stops making sense.

How could the author of such an amazing book as The Martian was write something so weak?
