This is honestly one of my favorite books. It's one of those with a great cliffhanger at the end. Dee Guarrera's character development from being sure she was going to die, to confident butt-kicking hero is amazing. I also like how there's multiple things going on. It's not just survival, but the mystery of Dee's past, her (SPOILER) romance with Nyles, and trying to figure out who truly killed Monica. I love how it all comes together in the end, but still leaves you on a mark that you'll definitely remember. I highly, highly recommend this book to people who like to read murder mysteries. If you do like super gory stuff, this one isn't outrageously gory, but there is quite a few deaths. There is a second book, but it is a little different, as being told by a different character, Becca, but you still get to see some familiar faces. It's called #murderfunding.

I don't understand how this book could have gotten such a high rating. This book was a hot mess from beginning to end. It was riddled with plot holes. There was absolutely no logic to anything that happens in the book or how/ why the characters react the way they do. The constant, not-so-subtle jabs at President Trump were distracting. Premise aside, the book was very boring when not focusing on the over the top ways in which characters were killed off. Even the gruesome killings were written in the most boring style imaginable.

#Murdertrending is set in the future where society's infamous criminals are sent to live on Alcatraz 2.0 where they are eventually murdered by one of the Postman's notorious executioners on live TV. Dee Guerrera is one of those criminals or is she? Dee knows she has committed no crime, but she was falsely convicted anyway and sent to Alcatraz 2.0. She become a part of the Death Row Breakfast Club in an effort to survive and prove her innocence. This book is dark and twisted murder mystery with a dose of reality TV thrown in. I am definitely a fan of the author Gretchen McNeil and absolutely love the cover of this book!
