A big warning, what we saw was great but after an hour and a half the DVD stopped working. We washed it twice but did not work. So I ordered a new one off the internet.

Voice-over is one of the narrative techniques that is hard to deal with. To be honest, most films use this technique often make me bored and tired to focus.
However, this film is actually one of the good examples.

Pesci steals this film, especially the scene in the desert with DeNiro. Sharon Stone and James Wood are also excellent.

Took it down a star due to Robert De Niro being stupid now. Great movie and book the book was a bit deeper. They need to get this on Blu-ray.

In this day and age there is no reason that the Library does not have this movie on Blu-ray when they have new garbage movies on Blu-ray.

A fascinating movie about love, greed, money, gambling, corruption, and crime set amidst the intense and criminal history of Las Vegas!

Deniro and Pesci are brilliant!

hen I saw Martin Scorsese's "Goodfellas" -which just so happens to be one of my all-time favorite films- I had an urge to see his other movies.I'll agree with pretty much everyone and say that "Casino" is no "Goodfellas".But who cares? This is a fascinating and powerfully dramatic film with great performances by Robert De Niro and the unforgettably talented Joe Pesci who won the Oscar for best supporting actor in "Goodfellas"

Okay to watch, would never recommend. More 'narration' than dialogue, which appears to be roughly 20 pages for a two hour movie. And not one single character that was worth giving a cr** about.

"Casino" is adapted from a true story about the mob in Las Vegas. The movie starts out with a very prophetic statement by Robert De Niro as the narrator. He says "Las Vegas has become to look like Disneyland". Martin Scorsese gives us a look at the life of Sam "Ace" Rothstein played by De Niro. He will rise from a bookie to the manager of the Casino The Tangiers. He will marry Ginger McKenna played by Sharon Stone. They will have one of the rockiest marriages ever to be put on film. The movie is a great look at the inside of a casino operation. It shows the skimming of money and how casino's handle those who try an cheat at the gaming tables. It is a fascinating study of how a casino works. Few movies have such a wonderful cast and a great script to work with. The back drop of Las Vegas just makes it all the more fascinating.
