Show me the money!!! This sad excuse to carry on with the Halloween franchise offered none of the suspense of the original. It was just an endless series of predictable scenes which were rather boring. At least they left the story open to cash in on, again and again... I can't wait.

To prepare, we watched the original 1978 film. That was quite good and holds up fairly well 40 years later. Now, for the 2018 film, which supposedly ignores all but the 1978 film canonically speaking, was good. It captured some of the old creepiness but it misfired somehow. It was well made but I can't quite put my finger on why it should have been so much better. If you are into the genre, it's a must-see. Bring popcorn.

Great new film. It denies all previous sequels and I love it.

Seriously? How long must we endure this fanatical garbage?! Are we REALLY expected to completely forget that Laurie's character killed this brain-dead hairball twenty years ago and npw she's a Completely DIFFERENT Person?!

A great sequel to the original film only that pits the Incomparable Jamie Lee Curtis against the unstoppable Michael Myers. While there are some laps in logic (why is she babysitting the only kid not trick or treating?) the last 30 minutes is an exercise in cinematic suspense when it finally boils down to what we all came here for - Jamie vs. Michael. The primal combo elevates the film to a must see!

I really looked forward to watching this movie. I was disappointed when I did. It basically resets the storyline to zero and tried to work as an independent story, but it fails. Watch the original, or any of the sequels, except maybe "Season of the Witch." I'm still trying to figure out why that's a sequel. It isn't very good even as a stand-alone movie--just this one.

Disappointing doesn't begin to cover it. The original Halloween is such a classic, and for good reason- it's a well-paced, suspenseful, great horror film. This is not. It has everything that gives horror movies a bad reputation: terrible writing, unreasonably stupid characters, no real suspense, high body count without any rhyme or reason, and on and on. When I find myself spending the majority of a movie yelling at the screen (Turn on a light, you fool! Oh, so NOW you turn on ALL the lights- too late!) , I know it is not a good movie. Do yourself a favor and watch the original instead. Heck, even Halloween II or Halloween H20 were better than this.

I really wished John Carpenter directed this sequel but he only produced it. Golden opportunity to direct Jamie Curtis once more. It wasn't bad but turning Jamie Curtis into a survivalist nut job, eh whatever. Did the director steal that from Terminator 2?
Still, great to see Jamie Curtis as Laurie again. Scared babysitter to vengeful survivalist grandma.
