Someone else's take on our youth, and one person's view of Queen, but my wife cried the last 90 minutes of the movie.

Just watched the movie and it felt like I was looking at window back in time and captured the essence of the characters and the history of their story. The picture quality was excellent in the Blu-Ray and time went by like candy watching this presentation. Pacing was just perfect. Didn't feel too long or drawn out. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was not too much bad language. My main complaint would be too much graphic gay-stuff thrown out to the audience surrounding Freddy's life that's I didn't think was necessary for the narrative of the movie. I understand the hype since it was a highly meticulous the way the whole recreation of the live aid concert and the essence of Queen together.

Excellent movie! Rami Malek's performance was superb.

I enjoyed this movie and the performances but as with many post-Oscar viewings, the hype is so high that the movie almost can't live up to it. I'm sure this was a highly redacted (there's that word again) version of what was most likely a much seedier circumstance, but the music is wonderful. I wish there had been more about how the inspiration for the music actually occurred but perhaps there is a documentary that explores that more--will look for one. So if you are a Queen fan, don't miss this but keep your expectations in check.

Recommended. Not a documentary, but it definitely captures the essence of Queen and of Freddy Mercury. Rami Malek totally deserved his Best Actor Oscar! His portrayal of Freddie was uncanny. Some of the timelines were compacted or changed a bit, and some things were left out or perhaps in some people's opinion not highlighted enough, but things have to be edited to make a movie of 2 hours length. Watch a documentary if you want "just the facts". Some people say the movie didn't mention that Freddie was gay. They must not have watched the same movie we did. It was mentioned and referenced MANY times. No steamy sex scenes, but there was some passionate kissing. Anyway, the movie wasn't about Freddie's sex life -- It was about the band: a group of guys who were different from each other who formed a band family. It was about their music and their journey. Focus was on Freddie, but he wasn't the whole story.

A beautiful story of the misfits coming together to make incredible music.

Reporter 2: Freddie, uh, your teeth! Why don't you get your teeth fixed?
Freddie Mercury: I live in Britain. I don't want to stand out.
Freddie Mercury: I have four extra incisors.

*** expanded quote on his incisors:
Our lead singer just quit.
-Well, then you'll need someone new.
Any ideas?
-What about me?
Uh, not with those teeth, mate.
- Freddie sang: I know what I'm doin' ... I got a feeling ...
The others harmonizing: Doin' all right
-I was born with four additional incisors. More space in my mouth means more range.
