Lost me somewhere in the "Second Act" with a stupid plot reveal. By the time I saw that I had to rewind two or three times because I was so bored of this movie by the time I got there it was like a BIG "whatever". Lost me from that point because if I feel "whatever" after a plot like that then it's not a believable story enough to justify the time viewing it.

Started well...first 10 minutes had me thinking bright, quick, witty dialogue......and at 20 minutes I turned it off... not even predictable....or silly...….just vehicle for name actor to
play for money …..would hate to have paid to see this....another reason I love the library. Good grief.....I see the library has 55 copies of this. I hope the film company donated some of them and they didn't actually pay for that many copies.

I saw JLo on some talk show gushing over hunky Milo Ventimiglia who leads the cast of THIS IS US- a wonderful TV drama.
When JLO went to cast her boyfriend for this movie, Milo said he was her first choice. Well JLo got her wish to smooch it up with this actor. Maybe everything else was built around this opportunity because it's pretty formulaic. Nothing new in the rom-com category here. Everyone earns their paycheck for a job done well but it just isn't memorable nor especially touching.
But if you need something for a Friday movie and popcorn night- this is lightweight and not violent. And you get to see JLo tell Milo what a great a _ _ he has about 5 times. Could be a lot worse.

I am not a Jennifer Lopez fan. Multiple wig changes, one had more hair than a horses mane.. Overrated. Dialogue muffled , hard to understand. Watched the entire movie. Jennifer one of the producers.

Not overly entertaining. Although the main character did not finish high school because her parents had died and she got knocked up at age 17 she tended to be talented in the field she enjoyed doing. She was a people person. She also did not think lower of people who did go get a higher education as her two faithful work colleges both graduated and worked very hard for her. She told her biological daughter to go back and finish her college as well as she advised her best friend's son to go back to school which he did. In the real world there are people like her that have about a grade 10 education and made a very successful business in which they own a million dollar house. For example Eminem the white rap singer and Richard Branson the business man. The movie portrayed that although she did not have a formal higher education she was still successful but felt low of herself for not getting the higher education. She also felt that she had it more difficult than others because she did not get ahead as not have the higher education did eliminate her from job positions. Although the movie does bring up the argument about education versus experience which still goes on today, I still found the movie to be boring.

This film was really dumbed down with a very bad message--don't bother with education.
A 50+ year old sales clerk at a valu mart wants to be the new manager. She shows up for her interview with 3 inch hoop earrings, bleached hair, 6 inch heels, a tight off the shoulder sweater, and skin tight pants. With only a GED and the other candidates in suits and with master's degrees she blames not getting the job on "not getting a college degree when I was 18". Uh, no. It's because you're not qualified. After that her godson fabricates an entire new life history for her with a Harvard degree, Presidential friends, and experience she could never possibly fake which makes the rest of the film incredibly dumb. A d-flick with really bad music. FYI: six figure salary jobs have three day interviews, not 10 minutes.

Watched a few minutes but so predictable.

Very light, which you'd expect from Jennifer Lopez. It was very predictable. I almost only watched only 2/3rds of it as I figured the ending would be exactly what it turned out to be when I decided to wade through the last third. Good movie for a mindless evening.

Was a fun watch, not boring, and well done. OK, so the whole premise is a bit far-fetched, but the message is terrific. Entertaining. There's really only one question that he writer said not answer. Don't want to give the end away, but, when Jennifer is asked at the end by her boyfriend about a family, her response was, "You are family." They did not answer that question for the male lead. Minor thing, tho'.

We really enjoyed this movie, full of great music, lots of upbeat action, and laced with sentimentality! Good clean script & a pleasure to watch Jennifer Lopez!
7 stars out of 10!
