Good Job everyone. That was beautifully done.

I could only give this film two stars out of five. Sorry, but the sweet nature of the title character, and the amazing and incredible backstory to how this film came about were not enough to overcome the horrific failures of the story and development of the other characters. I am all for suspending disbelief to go along with a story. Zak gets out, finds Tyler, who is also on the run, and they pair up in a good friendship. So far, so good. You have to suspend disbelief that is what happens in this day and age, but I'm game for a good story, let's go! Then Eleanor starts making decisions that are just IMPOSSIBLE to believe anyone in her circumstances would make and the need to suspend disbelief is stretched beyond even the imaginary abilities of suspension. Sorry, but your characters still have to ring true to be believable. There was so much of this story that I enjoyed. And you can tell Zack Gottsagen is a poor actor, but it is a wonderful thing you're watching, so you're happy to go along with it. Until Eleanor comes back into the story, and it is impossible to believe anyone in her shoes would behave like that.
Overall, I was disappointed by how much that poor story and character development ruined this film for me.

5 Stars! I recommend watching the Bonus portion FIRST. Then you will really love this sweet movie knowing the "story" behind it.

A Down Syndrome teen, stuck living an a nursing home, just wants to get out so he can go to Florida to meet his favorite boxer. A down-on-his luck shrimper, reluctantly at first, lets him tag along. A memorable story that gets to the heart of what family means. Wonderful for all ages.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and recommend it. It made me think and smile and laugh watching a lifestyle that is not familiar to me. The actors were excellent in their roles and the plot kept me interested from beginning to end. A great movie!

Just watch & smile. Dakota Johnson, Shia LaBeouf, Thomas Haden Church are all great but Zack Gottsagen carries the movie. Thanks to the writers who made this happen. #chosenfamily 💖

Shia LaBeouf is making his come back, and this movie proves it. In this you
follow Zak, a man with Down Syndrome who runs away from his residual
nursing home to pursue his dream of becoming a professional wrestler (WWE
style). At the beginning of Zak’s journey, he meets Tyler, a free spirit outlaw,
who takes him in and becomes his coach and friend. The connection made
between Zak and Tyler is incredible, and leaves your heart feeling so warm.
This film definitely has some Mark Twain vibes to it, so if you are looking for
something that has a bit of classic, old school adventure, definitely give this
one a shot. At the end, I can guarantee you will be smiling!

Rather like a cross between Huckleberry Finn and Rain Man. We enjoyed it a lot. Has some very good moral messages without being at all preachy. Humor, pathos, friendship, romance... What more could you want in a story. The acting was pretty good too, especially Shia LaBeouf as Tyler.
