Here is a couple more not in IMDb:
It's so dreadful being poor. It's not fair. How come some girls have pretty things and others have nothing at all?
- We have Father, Mother and each other.
We haven't got Father for as long as this war drags on.

Where is Marmee? I'm starving.
-Goodness only knows. Some poor creature came a-begging. Your ma set off to see what was needed. I wish she could help others at a time convenient to us.

Jo, you love him.
- What?! No, no, I don't.
Yes, you do! I am half as smart as you, but I can see it so plainly. You love him.

Comment
Add a CommentThis was the most amazing of movies, and has quite actually became my favorite.
Jo is such an example to me, and I absolutely love her boyish personality.
It proceeds back between the past and the present very often.

Also, I loved your comment, @mauve_rabbit_136!
Well done and enjoyable.
i really liked it but it jumped around so much i never knew what was happening they really didn't talk that much it was alright.
I read "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott when I was 14 years old, and I loved the book!
I watched a version from 1949 with June Allyson, and was thrilled to see it on the big screen.
Then, the 1994 version with Winona Ryder came out, and I thought it was spot 0n!
I really enjoyed watching this movie, but I think the casting was way off. With all due respect to Meryl Streep, she didn't hold a candle to Mary Wickes' performance as Aunt March in the 1994 movie.
As always, the book is still the best...
I liked this adaptation of Little Women. I saw the 1994 version a long time ago and enjoyed that as well. I think the actors did a really good job, especially Laura Dern, Meryl Streep and Saoirse Ronan. The only thing I didn't like was at times the flashbacks were a little confusing.
I tried to like this movie, but it progresses slowly, and I lost interest many times along the way to its ending. The cast is great, but it isn't a riveting film.
The plot is hard to get at first but as it rolls, you’ll get the story. It keeps jumping back and forth between the past and the present. The movie is okay but there’s nothing really inspiring, almost too long, the characters aren’t deep. The cinematography is pretty by itself but when paired with the plot, incoherent, unrealistic, too polished.
This was so much better than I ever thought it could be! Personally, I found the book so boring that I couldn't ever get through it. Back when I was in school, I even wrote a book report after reading only a fourth of the book, and just using instinct for the paper, fully understanding that I was jeopardizing my GPA, I made that choice because I couldn't bear to read anymore. However, as the book is a classic that I believe each student should at least be aware of, I gave my daughter the choice to either read the book or watch the film. She begrudgingly choose the film, insisting it would be awful. We were both wrong. The film was not just excellent, it was captivating!
I saw this movie in the theaters with my friend, and I loved it. I loved how Jo was portrayed, I loved how perfectly Amy was written as the "annoying younger sister" for the part of the movie in which she was young, I loved how Emma Watson played Meg (yay!) and how perfectly she was written. Beth was so amazing, and I loved relating to her love of playing the piano. This was absolutely perfect, except for the fact that I barely knew Mr. Bhaer by the time the movie ended, but that's just a small critique. I loved how heartbreaking it was when * SPOILER ALERT!!!* Jo said no to Laurie. I prefer this one vastly to the original movie, not to say that the original wasn't amazing, but to say that I loved this one so much. This is so amazing, and I am so proud of everyone who put their time into this movie :)
I've heard so many good things about this film, so I was very disappointed when I wasn't able to get very far into it. The constant jumping back and forth in the timeline was irritating and made it very difficult to follow and concentrate on what was happening when.
