You think you know everything, but you don't.

Just be honest. That's all we can be.
-He's so little... to be doing that. Breaks my heart.
He just hasn't... learnt how to talk about things. And where does he get that from?

Does he frighten you?
-I can manage him.
You... you shouldn't have to manage him.
-You don't stop loving someone, do you? Even when you know they've done a terrible thing.

Comment
Add a Comment3* love the actors but this is a long and dragged out series. Should have been over in 2 hours.
A tragic house fire in a small town where everyone knows everyone's business, or believes so. Better than expected mystery that is less on suspense than character study of the denizens and their different views of whodunit and whydunit.
I adore both David Tennant and Cush Jumbo. They make up for the story line short comings.
Sorry to say that I found this to be a letdown. The flash backs are confusing and convoluted, and the story downright disturbing. I did not find myself connecting with any of the characters. If you are hoping for Broadchurch, you will likely be disappointed.
Quite predictable. The scenery was nice.
I watched two episodes (half the series) last night and was initially confused by and then annoyed by the flashbacks. Uncertain as to whether or not to continue I have just checked the comments and decided that although I do not have anything else at hand to pass my Covid evenings.....I won't bother seeing the last two episodes.
I did not really like any of the characters enough to stick it out with them.
A convoluted tale of a troubled marriage, and the couples friends and family dealing with the fallout. Great actors, beautifully filmed, it should have been excellent, but missed the mark. I was disturbed by the best friends casual adultery with her friends husband, yet was so deceitful to her mentally depressed friends face. It seemed the best friend was resentful, and jealous of her friend, yet so concerned for her fragile friend's well being. It did not ring true to me.
depressing; waste of their talent and our time
I love David Tennant, but very disappointed with the story,
not my cup of tea
Suspense-free couples-klatch murder plot with cute kids throughout. Caution: 3 kids burn to death. They don't show you the deaths, but the bodies are bagged and brought out from the scene.
Lots of swearing and screaming. Couples fighting. Woman who can't conceive not as bothered by it as you might think. Affairs. Blah, blah, blah. Tedious. Tried to force myself to get through the 4th episode. Just didn't care. Also, easy to get confused from one scene to another as to who's who on secondary characters.
I did like what's-his-name's acting- the Dr. Who guy. But the script just doesn't go anywhere.
