Even if you're unfamiliar with the true-life story/characters, it's easy to predict where this is headed within the first 15 minutes. Despite that, it's a solid, old-fashioned "Tradition of Quality"-style entertainment.
20 (or more) years ago, Miramax could have turned it into an arthouse smash, and even a major Oscar contender.
For better (or worse: you be the judge), those days are long gone.
So if you dig PBS' Masterpiece Theater and consider yourself a certified Anglophile, be sure to pick this up.
