I'm forever looking for something good, something different on tv. And the Buffalo PBS station usually provides it. After watching an episode of the BBC series "Shetland" I noticed in the credits "based on Ann Cleves Blue Lightniung". Something to follow up and follow up I did. Cleeves' novel is set on The Fair Isle in the Shetland Islands. A place of perpetual rain wind and birds. And Perez, an Inspector on the police force finds himself on the island, the place of his birth when two grizzly murders are committed. Cleeves writes the classical murder mystery: one copper; one murderer; two victims; and a room (in this case, half an island) full of people. The plot loves to lead you astray. Who do you think it is? First this one, then that. The novel moves you along sedately. Except for the elements.
