Cork & Fuzz: The Swimming Lesson is a children’s picture book, written by Dori Chaconas, and one of the many Cork & Fuzz books. Cork is a muskrat and Fuzz is a possum, though they’re very different, they play and have fun together everyday. One day, when Fuzz went to the pond to call over Cork so they could play, Cork told him to swim to his house. But Fuzz didn’t want to, because he is afraid. Cork, being Fuzz’s best friend, gave him a swimming lesson. When Fuzz learned all the essentials, he realized that he had to go into the water to swim. Then he thought that he could climb across a branch then jump down to Cork’s house, but he fell into the water. When he began to paddle and kick, he swam all the way to Cork’s house. This is a great book with amazing illustrations by Lisa McCue. It teaches people about friendship and trying new things. It is also pretty funny.
